LIZARTE

Over 50 years remanufacturing
automotive components

We apply advanced reverse engineering to transform complex automotive mechatronic systems into reliable, precise and sustainable solutions. We return components to the market in line with original equipment standards, promoting a new approach to reuse and industrial responsibility.

Remanufacturing to IATF 16949 quality standards for highly complex mechatronic systems.

We are a family-owned company founded in 1973, specialising in the remanufacturing of automotive components. We remanufacture 100% of our parts at our Pamplona plant, where technical expertise, production and quality control come together to meet the needs of distributors and automotive professionals.

We turn
complexity into precision

A modern steering system integrates mechanics, electronics, sensors and control. Our team studies how each system works and defines the processes required to remanufacture it and validate its performance. This specialisation enables us to handle highly complex references.

Remanufacturing

  • Defined and repeatable industrial process
  • The product is systematically disassembled and assessed
  • Components are inspected and replaced according to technical criteria
  • Final checks and tests are carried out
  • The aim is to restore defined target performance and specifications
  • The process is designed to be repeated consistently

One-off repair

  • Intervention focused on a specific fault
  • The detected fault is identified and corrected
  • Intervention focused on an identified fault; scope and checks are determined by the specific failure
  • Testing may be limited to verifying the repair
  • The aim is to return the repaired part to working condition
  • Each repair may be different

Highly demanding
standards

We operate under an IATF 16949-certified management system. Before leaving our facility, every component undergoes the controls and functional tests defined for its specific reference.

Reverse engineering applied to highly complex components

Our R&D department applies reverse engineering to steering and mechatronic systems. We develop our own tools and emulators to understand how each system behaves, define the remanufacturing process and verify its operation.

Industrial efficiency
and sustainability

By recovering and remanufacturing components, we retain the materials and embedded value of existing parts. This is the basis of our contribution to a more circular automotive industry.

The people behind
the process

Jorge Bobadilla
R&D Director

Jorge leads Lizarte’s R&D department, developing in-depth technical knowledge of the systems the company remanufactures: EPS and EHPS steering, diesel injection and transmission systems. His work focuses on understanding the interaction between sensors, control software, electronic hardware and precision mechanics—not simply replacing the component that appears to be damaged—in order to improve the remanufacturing process and expand the company’s capabilities.

He closely follows developments in vehicle technology, including electrification, new electronic control systems and software variants that influence hardware behaviour.

Javier Hualde
Quality Director

Javier leads Lizarte’s Quality department, which is responsible for the IATF 16949 management system as well as quality control, internal audit and continuous improvement processes.

Applying this standard to a remanufacturing process is more demanding than in new-product manufacturing: every incoming unit is in a different condition, and his role is to design a system capable of managing that variability while ensuring consistent output. For Javier, quality is not a final inspection; it is built into every stage, from incoming inspection through to validation of the complete system.
